Jungfraujoch (Top of Europe) is approximately 2 hours from the apartment by train. You walk 2 minutes to Grindelwald station, take the train to Kleine Scheidegg, then change to the Jungfrau Railway which climbs through the Eiger to 3,454 m.
Is Grindelwald better in summer or winter?
Grindelwald is equally rewarding in both seasons. Winter offers 160 km of ski pistes and events like the Lauberhorn World Cup, while summer opens 300+ km of hiking trails, paragliding, and mountain biking. The best season depends entirely on your preferred activities.
How do I get from Zurich to Grindelwald?
The train journey from Zurich to Grindelwald takes approximately 2 hours with one change in Interlaken Ost. Trains run frequently throughout the day and the scenic route passes through the Bernese Oberland. No car is needed.
What is the minimum stay?

Is parking available at the apartment?

The Firstbahn is a gondola lift that ascends from the village to First summit station at 2,168 m. The base station is a 5-minute walk from EigerNest. From the top, you can access the First Cliff Walk, hike to Bachalpsee, ride the First Flyer zipline, or start mountain biking trails.
What is the Jungfrau Ski Region?
The Jungfrau Ski Region encompasses 160 km of groomed pistes and 44 ski lifts spread across five interconnected areas, including Grindelwald-First, Kleine Scheidegg-Mannlichen, and Murren-Schilthorn. A single pass covers all areas, with the closest (Grindelwald-First) just 5 minutes from the apartment.
Is Grindelwald suitable for beginner skiers?
Yes, Grindelwald is excellent for beginners. The Bodmi area near the village has gentle nursery slopes and ski schools offering lessons in multiple languages. The Kleine Scheidegg and First areas also have dedicated beginner runs with wide, well-groomed pistes.
What is the Lauberhorn race and when does it take place?

The 6.4 km return hike takes about 2.5 hours and is rated easy to moderate. Bachalpsee is the most photographed lake in the Bernese Oberland, with mirror reflections of the Eiger, Monch, and Jungfrau.
What supermarket is closest to the apartment?
Coop supermarket is a 3-minute walk from EigerNest. It stocks a full range of groceries, Swiss specialities, fresh bread, and everyday essentials. There are also several bakeries and speciality shops along Dorfstrasse.
Is there public transport inside Grindelwald?
Yes, the Grindelwald Bus runs regular routes through the village and to outlying areas. The bus is free with the guest card provided to all EigerNest guests on arrival. That said, the village centre is compact and most key locations are within a 5-minute walk from the apartment.
When does the World Snow Festival take place?
The World Snow Festival is held in January each year on Dorfstrasse in the centre of Grindelwald. International artists carve elaborate sculptures from massive snow blocks over the course of a week, and the finished works remain on display until they melt.
Can I visit Grindelwald without a car?
