Rental Terms & Conditions

1. Scope

These terms and conditions govern the rental of the holiday apartment known as EigerNest, located at Grabenstrasse 8, 3818 Grindelwald, Canton of Bern, Switzerland. By confirming a booking, the guest agrees to these terms.

2. Booking & Confirmation

Bookings are made by submitting an inquiry through our website or by contacting us at [email protected]. A booking is confirmed only when the guest has received written confirmation from EigerNest (by email) and, where applicable, a deposit has been received.

The booking confirmation will include the rental dates, total price, number of guests, and any special arrangements agreed upon.

3. Payment Terms

4. Cancellation Policy

EigerNest operates a strict cancellation policy:

  • 30+ days before check-in: Full refund
  • 14–30 days before check-in: 50% refund
  • Within 14 days of check-in: No refund

All cancellations must be communicated in writing to [email protected].

5. Check-in & Check-out

Standard check-in and check-out times are as follows:

  • Check-in: from 15:00 (3:00 PM)
  • Check-out: by 11:00 (11:00 AM)

These times are confirmed and apply to all bookings.

Early check-in or late check-out may be available upon request, subject to availability. Please inquire in advance.

6. House Rules

Guests are expected to treat the apartment, its furnishings, and communal areas with care and respect. The following rules apply:

  • No smoking inside the apartment
  • Dogs are not allowed in the apartment — this is a strict policy
  • The minimum stay is 1 week (7 nights), applying year-round
  • Noise must be kept to a minimum between 22:00 and 07:00, in accordance with Swiss residential standards
  • Maximum occupancy is 4 guests and must not be exceeded
  • The apartment must be left in a reasonably clean and tidy condition upon check-out
  • Any damage or breakage should be reported to the host promptly

A detailed house guide, including appliance instructions and waste disposal guidelines, will be provided in the apartment.

7. Liability

The guest is liable for any damage caused to the apartment, its contents, or the building during their stay, except for normal wear and tear. The host is not liable for loss or damage to the guest's personal property during their stay.

The host shall not be liable for temporary interruptions to services (such as electricity, water, heating, internet) caused by circumstances beyond the host's control, including but not limited to natural events, maintenance by utility providers, or force majeure.

Guests are advised to have appropriate travel and personal liability insurance for their stay.

8. Guest Registration

Swiss law requires that all guests be registered with the local municipality. Guests may be asked to provide identification upon arrival for this purpose. This data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

9. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with Swiss law. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Interlaken, Canton of Bern, Switzerland.
